This print by artist Kerne Erickson depicts the picturesque view from the patio of Sycamore Cellars located off Arroyo Seco road in the Arroyo Seco AVA. The magnificent cliffs along with the vineyards near the river make for a striking back drop. This region has over 7,000 planted acres of grape vines with soil types of Sandy loam, Loamy Sand and a Shale Loam. This sub AVA was established in 1983 and part of the Central Coast AVA.This area is home to over 40 vineyards and wineries, a few are: Wente Vineyards, Ventana, Scott Family Estate, J. Lohr, Hahn Vineyard, Scheid Vineyard, Massa Vineyards, Shale Canyon Wines,, Vaquerro, Clark, Bernardus, Blair Estate, Carmel Road, Chesebro Wines, La Crema, Martin Ranch Winery and Mercy Wines.
