This print by artist Kerne Erickson depicts the vineyards and glimpses of the Pacific Ocean from the Fort Ross Vineyards located in the Fort Ross - Seaview AVA. This AVA was created from part of the Sonoma Coast AVA located in the North Coast AVA north of San Francisco. Known for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the Fort Ross - Seaview AVA was established in 2012, its elevation and close proximity to the ocean create ideal conditions for Burgundian varieties. The coastline here lies directly east of the San Andreas Fault which has influenced the soils which are both alluvial and volcanic. Two of the prominent wineries in this AVA are: Fort Ross Vineyard and Flowers Vineyards & Winery.
