Description
Jupp Wiertz (1888 - 1939), German poster artist; he studied at the Berlin Kunstgewerbeschule. He designed collectible Christmas plates for Rosenthal Porcelain and a great variety of posters during the 1920s and 1930s. From 1934 onwards he had a studio in Berlin where he designed publicity for Deutsche Lufthansa, Mercedes-Benz, as well as travel posters for Hamburg-America Line. He won first and second prizes from the Central Council for International Tourism in 1937.
