Witold Chomicz (1910 - 1984)
was painter, graphic designer, since 1934 lecturer at the National Institute of Fine Arts, and since 1950 professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He was educated in Cracow, Warsaw and Prague. He was interested primarily graphic design, mainly books. He has educated many outstanding designers. He also painted oil paintings, created woodcuts, posters and designs stained-glass windows. He was inspired by the folk art and folklore of Krakow. He was a member of the jury of the competition Cracow Nativity Cribs.
