Vintage Pin Up Girl Print

This image is a reproduction of a famous pin-up painting by the American glamour artist Earl Moran (1893–1984). The artwork is titled The Artist, or simply Artist, and was created circa 1954.

About the Artwork and Artist

Artist: Earl Moran was a prominent 20th-century artist known for his pin-up calendar illustrations. He gained national recognition when he was featured in a 1940 Life magazine article.

Model: Moran is perhaps most famous for his work with a young model named Norma Jeane Dougherty, who would later become the iconic actress Marilyn Monroe. Monroe posed for Moran for four years in the late 1940s, and the pastel paintings from that period are now his most valuable works.

Style: Moran's work is characterized by its idealized beauty and playful, suggestive themes, often featuring voluptuous blondes.
